Right-of-Way Engineering
Land acquisition is an important component to any civil engineering project. This service falls under the responsibility of the Right-of-way Department. BF&S maintains a staff led by licensed Land Surveyors to provide this service. Knowledge of interest in land, including ownership, easements, leases, mineral rights, and mortgages is necessary. Understanding the processes required by federal, state, and local authorities is crucial to the success of a project. Coordination with subconsultants is also vital to right-of-way engineering.
