Echo Hollow Nature Park Trail

Plainfield, IN
Town of Plainfield

Summary:

The Echo Hollow Nature Park Boardwalk project involved the design and construction of an 11.5-foot-wide timber and steel hybrid boardwalk system spanning approximately 430 feet across sensitive wetland areas, along with a 158-foot overlook providing scenic views of Sodalis Lake. BF&S led the design of these structures to support the Town of Plainfield’s broader vision of enhancing recreational access while preserving critical natural features within the park. Constructed in September 2024 as part of the Lake Loop Trail development, the boardwalk integrates with the park’s expanding trail network, which now exceeds five miles throughout the 300+ acre public space. These improvements provide visitors with safe, immersive access to wetlands and wildlife habitats while aligning with the park’s long-term goals of environmental stewardship, education, and regional connectivity.
